Sleep data APIs for AI agents

How REST, MCP and Agent Skills can expose useful sleep reports without bypassing identity or authorization.

Keep the domain API authoritative

An agent should read the same versioned members, devices, reports, stages and events as the mobile app or customer backend. MCP is an interface over the authorized domain API, not a shortcut to internal tables.

Start with a narrow read-only tool surface

Latest report, report history, stages and events cover many analysis tasks. Each response should preserve member, time range, source report and missing-data context so a model can cite what it actually used.

Skills describe workflows, not credentials

A Skill can teach an agent how to compare nights, request clarification and format a sourced summary. Tokens remain in the CLI or MCP process, and every tool call stays within the identity and scopes assigned by the customer deployment.
